Some people might know about the Earth, but what about the solar system? Earth Science and Astronomy are similar in many ways and can be linked together. The basic fact that the Earth is a part of the solar system is the biggest key to it all. Through the study of our Earth, we are able to get a better perspective of how the universe works. So how did the Earth come to be? How did the evolutionary life cycle of the solar system start out and how did it bring us to where we are at today? Scientists believe that the formation of the universe started with the Big Bang Theory and the universe was an enormous compacted hot and dense mass. Roughly 13.7 billion years ago, the dense mass of the universe began to expand and cool and formed†¦show more content†¦This process allows us to study and know where our Earth came from and where it’s going to go. Being able to learn about our planet in the solar system, gives us the tools we need to observe and learn about the re st of our universe. For example, the comparison of rocks, minerals, and the different elements that make up the planets composition, helps us to prove how the solar system was created and is also used as supporting evidence to the Big Bang Theory and Nebular Theory. Since technology is always advancing, we are able to learn more about our universe every day. The use of telescopes allows us to adventure out and gather data to monitor the Earth, surrounding planets, and even galaxies that are far away. We are able to use the different types of waves that make up the electromagnetic spectrum to determine what direction a planet is moving. Since there are many types of waves of energy that are produced in space, we use different types of telescopes to see the noise that is produced. For examples a radio telescope would be used to monitor the enormous radio waves and an x-ray space station would be used to monitor the x-rays that are the size of an atom. In my daily life, I work with communications and computer networks in Afghanistan. We monitor the health of the network to ensure there are no outages and the warfighter mission can be completed.
